You’re Invited to Visit Us
Hello friend — I’m Bishop Wayne Thomas, and on behalf of our House of Praise church family I want to personally invite you to come worship with us.
We’re a Spirit-filled, Christ-centered church that loves God, lifts up His name in praise, and loves people. Whether you’ve walked with the Lord for years or you’re just beginning to seek Him, there’s a place for you at our table — come as you are.
A Doctor of Theology, Bishop Thomas has been preaching for 18 years and pastoring for 14. He and his wife, First Lady Chericia Thomas, planted House of Praise in 2012 and are raising two daughters.

Meet Bishop Wayne Thomas
Chericia Thomas
Bishop Thomas is joined in ministry by his wife, First Lady Chericia Thomas, who serves alongside him as Associate Pastor.
A graduate of Omega Theological Seminary with a Bachelor of Theology, she has served beside her husband since the founding of House of Praise — raising their two daughters and pouring her life into this church family.
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
— Romans 8:31 (KJV)

Here’s What to Expect
A Warm Welcome
A greeter will meet you at the door, hand you a bulletin, and help you find a seat. We don't make first-time visitors stand up or sing solos.
Spirit-Filled Worship
Heartfelt praise, prayer, anointed music, and preaching straight from God's Word. Come ready to be encouraged and lifted up.
Come As You Are
Some folks dress up, some come in jeans. Bring the kids — nursery is available for infants through age 4 during the morning service.
A House of Praise.
We’re a Spirit-filled, family-oriented Full Gospel Missionary Baptist church in Alexandria, Louisiana. We gather to worship the Lord Jesus Christ, grow in His Word, and reach our community with the love and hope of the Gospel.
Our mission is simple: to love God, love people, and lift up the name of Jesus — with open arms for everyone who walks through our doors.

We lift up the name of Jesus with heartfelt, Spirit-filled praise.
The Word
We preach and teach the Word of God — sound doctrine for everyday life.
Family
We love one another, look out for each other, and grow together in Christ.
What We Believe
We hold to the historic truths of the Christian faith. Here are four of them.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God — our final authority for faith and everyday living.
The Trinity
One God eternally existing in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Salvation
By grace, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone — not of works, lest any man should boast.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit fills, leads, and empowers believers to live for God and serve others.
The Work of the Lord Must Continue

How to Know You’re Saved.
The Bible tells us salvation is a gift from God, received by faith in His Son Jesus Christ. The Roman Road through Scripture lays it out simply.
Admit
Romans 3:23
Admit that you are a sinner. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Believe
Romans 5:8
Believe that Jesus Christ died for you. “While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Call
Romans 10:13
Call upon the Lord. “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Your tithes and offerings keep the doors open, the lights on, and the ministry moving forward. Give securely online with Givelify — or drop your offering in the plate Sunday morning.
“Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give... for God loveth a cheerful giver.”— 2 Corinthians 9:7
